Sawn timber planks loaded onto a truck for transport

Supply for distributors

Wholesale sawn timber

Galician pine, eucalyptus and kiln-dried timber, sawn to consistent dimensions and prepared for full-truckload orders for builders' merchants, timber distributors and industrial packaging manufacturers.

This page is written for buyers restocking on a recurring basis —builders' merchants, wood distributors and industrial packaging manufacturers— not for someone sourcing a one-off quantity for a single project. Maderas Caamaño, S.C. is a family-run sawmill and timber merchant in Berdoias (Vimianzo, A Coruña, Galicia, Spain), where we saw pine and eucalyptus of Galician origin and also supply kiln-dried (KD) timber. We build wholesale orders by combining these lines to match the stock composition your yard actually needs, rather than restricting each shipment to a single species.

For the technical detail on each product —available sections, typical uses, drying process— see our product pages for Galician sawn pine timber, sawn eucalyptus timber and kiln-dried (KD) timber. Here we focus on how a wholesale order is composed, packaged and delivered.

Grading and dimensional consistency at volume

When timber is bought for resale or to feed a production line, consistency across bundles matters as much as species. A distributor receiving multiple loads through the year needs sections to stay stable from one order to the next, so the material can be graded and shelved in the yard without surprises. We saw both pine and eucalyptus in-house at our Vimianzo mill, which lets us keep direct control over dimensions across the whole order rather than relying on mixed lots from different sources.

Kiln-dried stock adds a further variable —moisture content— that matters in particular to industrial packaging manufacturers who need dimensionally stable timber before it goes through machining. You can order KD alongside green pine or eucalyptus within the same order, depending on what each batch will be used for.

Combining pine, eucalyptus and KD timber in one truckload

A distributor rarely needs only one species: pine for framing and joinery, eucalyptus where its higher density suits the application, and KD timber for packaging or other uses that require low moisture content. Rather than running three separate orders and three separate deliveries, we build a single full-truckload order that combines these three lines in whatever proportion matches your restocking needs.

This makes logistical and commercial sense: it reduces the number of deliveries your yard has to receive and unload, and lets each truckload reflect your actual demand instead of forcing single-species orders that don't match what your business needs to sell. Tell us the proportions or the section mix you're after and we'll build the order accordingly.

Packaging and preparation for full-truckload shipment

Timber for wholesale orders is prepared in banded and/or palletised bundles, built to withstand forklift handling and road transport without the planks working loose. This format also speeds up unloading and puts stock straight into your racking, compared with handling loose pieces.

As a general industry reference, a standard European road trailer carries roughly 24-26 tonnes, or up to about 33 pallet positions. That figure is useful for planning order volumes and species combinations, not a guaranteed capacity for any specific load: actual tonnage depends on the sections, moisture content and mix of lines ordered. We work under EXW, FOB, or delivered Incoterms, whichever suits your logistics.

Delivery across Spain and the EU

From Vimianzo we serve both the Spanish mainland market and buyers elsewhere in the EU. As a general guide to road distances: Porto, Portugal is around 230 km away, roughly a half-day's drive; Lisbon is around 600 km, roughly a full day's drive; the French border (Irun/Hendaye) is around 700 km. Into France, Bordeaux is around 830 km and Paris around 1,250 km, a route a full truckload typically covers in about 2 business days given EU driver-hours rules. Frankfurt, Germany is around 1,750 km, typically around 2-3 business days, and Berlin around 2,300 km, typically around 3 business days. Milan, Italy (via France) is around 1,600 km, typically around 2-3 business days, and Rome around 2,100 km, typically around 3 business days. These are general transit estimates, not guaranteed delivery times.

Spain, Portugal, France, Germany and Italy are all EU/Schengen members, so goods move between them without customs duties or border checks. Intra-EU B2B supply is typically VAT-exempt at origin under the reverse-charge mechanism when the buyer holds a valid EU VAT number verified through VIES. International road freight is documented with a CMR consignment note, the standard European road-transport document. For shipments of solid wood packaging to destinations outside the EU, such as the UK or Switzerland, ISPM 15 heat-treatment marking is required; this does not apply to EU destinations such as Portugal, France, Germany or Italy.

Frequently asked questions

What's the minimum order for wholesale sawn timber?

We don't set a single generic minimum here: the right volume depends on the species and section mix you need. These orders are typically supplied by full truckload or part-truckload; contact us with the stock composition you're after and we'll confirm what's workable for your order.

Can you combine pine, eucalyptus and KD timber in one shipment?

Yes. It's common to build a single full-truckload order by mixing these three lines in whatever proportion your yard needs, rather than running separate deliveries for each species.

How is timber packaged for wholesale transport?

In banded and/or palletised bundles, prepared for forklift handling and road transport, which makes unloading and putting stock straight into your yard easier.

What documentation comes with international orders?

International road freight is documented with a CMR consignment note. For EU B2B buyers with a VIES-verified VAT number, supply is typically VAT-exempt at origin under the reverse-charge mechanism. We work under EXW, FOB, or delivered Incoterms, as needed.
