A family sawmill at the heart of Galicia's forestry country
We work Galician pine and eucalyptus from forest to finished product, supplying industrial customers across Spain and the rest of Europe.
Maderas Caamaño, S.C. is a family-run business dealing in the wholesale purchase and sale of pine and eucalyptus timber, with its own sawmill in Berdoias, Vimianzo (A Coruña, Galicia). Our work combines forestry operations — felling, transport, land clearing and reforestation — with sawing and processing timber on our own site.
That forestry and sawmilling base has let us extend our range into products with stronger international demand: wood pallets for the European market, kiln-dried timber for applications needing dimensional stability, and a biomass line (pellets, firewood and wood chips) that makes use of our own sawmilling by-products.
We remain, above all, a business built on direct contact: the person handling your enquiry is the person who knows the real state of production, the sawmill's lead times, and what's available in each wood species.
How we work
Direct forestry sourcing
We buy standing and round timber from forests across Galicia and manage the forestry work ourselves, giving us traceability over the origin of the wood we saw.
In-house production
We saw, dry and process timber at our own site in Vimianzo, without relying on third parties for the key stages of the process.
Full use of the log
From log to finished product: sawn timber and pallets, with sawmilling by-products turned into pellets, firewood and wood chips, leaving little waste.
Export-oriented
We adapt packaging, ISPM 15 heat treatment and paperwork to the requirements of each destination country in Europe.
Standards and regulations we follow
We manufacture pallets to EPAL/EURO dimensional specifications and offer heat treatment of wood packaging material in line with the international phytosanitary standard ISPM 15 where the export destination requires it. In our forestry management we take into account the sustainable-management principles promoted by organisations such as FSC and PEFC, and we work within the forestry procedures set out by Galicia's regional forestry authority, the Consellería do Medio Rural (Xunta de Galicia). We do not currently hold a formal chain-of-custody certification; if your order requires a specific certificate, please check with us before confirming the order.
